About JB's Sewer and Plumbing Services

We started because the plumbers we called treated our problem like just another call on their list.

How This Started

James Kachiroubas spent years working underground in Chicago's sewer system. He learned the trade from the ground up—literally, digging out failed clay pipes and cast iron lines that had been failing under the neighborhoods for decades. What frustrated him most was watching homeowners and business owners get treated like inconveniences by the contractors they called.

He saw the same pattern over and over. A blocked drain. A call made in desperation. A contractor arriving late, quoting a price off the top of their head, and leaving behind a half-finished job. The real issue—the reason the line was failing—never got addressed. Six months later, the homeowner called again.

That's when JB's was born. Not because James wanted another plumbing business. But because he knew he could do better. He'd spend the time to look deeper—sometimes with camera inspection, sometimes with hydro jetting to clear the real blockage, sometimes by discovering an old clay pipe that needed to come out entirely. The goal shifted from quick repairs to solutions that actually lasted.

'We treat every home and business like it's our own. That's not a slogan—it's the only way we know how to work.'

— James Kachiroubas, Founder

What We've Learned

Honest upfront pricing matters more than you think. A lot of contractors won't tell you what something costs until after they've dug up your yard. We give you the real number before we start—because we've learned that trust is worth more than a surprise bill at the end. When you know where you stand, you can actually plan. You can breathe.

Advanced equipment isn't just nice to have. It's necessary. A sewer camera inspection can show us exactly what's broken and where. Hydro jetting can clean a line without digging. These tools cost money upfront, but they give us the ability to solve problems the right way the first time. We've invested in them because we're not looking for repeat work—we're looking for solutions.

Same-day emergency service means someone picks up the phone at 2 a.m. We know a backed-up sewer line doesn't call during business hours. It happens on weekends. It happens when you're already stressed. Being locally owned means we live in the same neighborhoods as our customers. When your basement floods, that's not just an order—that's our neighborhood too.

How We Work

When you call JB's, you're not getting a corporate answer line. You're talking to people who know the work and the city. We show up on time in fully equipped service vehicles because we respect your schedule. We explain what we find and why—no jargon, no pressure to buy something you don't need. Whether it's a simple drain cleaning or a complete sewer line replacement, residential or commercial, we treat the work the same way: with full attention and pride in the outcome.

We're here for Chicago and the southwest suburbs. If you need sewer or plumbing work done right, call us. We'll listen, look closely, and give it to you straight.
